Beyond classroom: Thrive with QE programmes

At QE Global Schools, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals through exceptional opportunities beyond traditional academics. Our carefully designed programmes empower students to explore their passions, develop essential skills and thrive as global citizens.

QE Flourish programme

The QE Flourish programme is a distinctive feature of Queen Elizabeth’s Global Schools, designed to develop students beyond the classroom and cultivate the full breadth of their abilities. Rooted in our mission to foster confident, able, and responsible young people, Flourish provides structured opportunities for personal growth, leadership, and high performance across four key strands:

Challenge

The Challenge strand stretches academic potential. Students are provided with enrichment activities and extension tasks that extend beyond standard curriculum expectations. This may include:
• Entry into international academic competitions (e.g. Maths Olympiads, science fairs, debate championships)

• Advanced research projects and independent learning modules.
• Masterclasses and seminars with subject experts and university academics.
• Critical thinking challenges and interdisciplinary inquiry-based learning.

Challenge nurtures intellectual ambition, curiosity and academic resilience, ensuring high-achieving students are supported and stimulated.

Create

The Create strand empowers students to express themselves through the arts, design, technology and innovation. The programmes include:
• Music ensembles, theatre productions, dance showcases and visual arts exhibitions
• STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) innovation projects
• Creative writing clubs, media production, and digital storytelling
• Design thinking challenges and maker-space initiatives

Students are encouraged to take risks creatively, celebrate originality, and explore the power of imagination in shaping the future.

Contribute

The Contribute strand focuses on social responsibility, leadership and service. Students engage in meaningful initiatives that benefit the school and the wider community. Opportunities include:
• Volunteering and outreach programmes for local and international charities
• Sustainability campaigns and student-led environmental projects
• Peer mentoring, wellbeing leadership, and student voice platforms
• Planning and leading awareness events around global issues

Through Contribute, students learn the values of empathy, integrity and civic responsibility, and are empowered to lead purposeful change.

Compete

The Compete strand fosters healthy ambition, teamwork and excellence in sports, games, and public competitions. Students participate in:
• Inter-school and international sporting events and tournaments
• Internal house competitions across sports, academics and the arts
• Public speaking, entrepreneurship pitch events and robotics challenges
• Leadership roles in team-based activities and school representation

Compete builds character, resilience and team spirit, helping students manage success and setbacks with grace and determination.

Together, the four strands of QE Flourish ensure that every student has the opportunity to explore their strengths, discover new passions and thrive as a well-rounded individual. It is more than a programme – it is a philosophy of growth, excellence and self-discovery that defines life at Queen Elizabeth’s Global Schools.

QE House programme

Our QE House programme is at the heart of student life and pastoral care. Every student belongs to a House, creating a strong sense of identity, belonging and community. The House system fosters healthy competition, teamwork and leadership through a variety of academic, sporting, cultural and charitable activities. Older students serve as mentors and role models for younger peers, building cross-age relationships that strengthen our inclusive and caring school culture. The House programme also plays a key role in promoting student wellbeing, student voice and celebrating success.

QE Futures programme

QE Futures programme equips students for life beyond school, with a clear focus on higher education, careers, and global readiness. Beginning in the early years and continuing through Sixth Form, the programme includes structured college and career counselling, entrepreneurship experiences, internships and engagement with universities and industry experts. Students build personal portfolios, develop soft skills, and explore their post-school options with confidence. QE Futures helps each student to determine their unique path and pursue it, whether they intend to attend Oxbridge, Ivy League or an innovative startup.

QE Connect

QE Connect is the official alumni programme of Queen Elizabeth’s Global Schools, designed to maintain meaningful, lifelong connections with former students, wherever their journeys may take them. Rooted in the proud legacy of the founding school, QE Connect brings together a diverse, global community of alumni who share a common foundation of excellence, values, and ambition

Our alumni are trailblazers in fields such as medicine, law, entrepreneurship, arts, diplomacy and innovation. QE Connect celebrates their achievements, facilitates networking and offers ongoing opportunities for collaboration and mentorship.

QE Connect serves as a platform for reflecting on where our students have come from as well as shaping where they are going. It fosters a powerful sense of belonging that transcends borders and unites Elizabethans past and present in a shared commitment to excellence, responsibility and impact.
